Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Asking for a warrant = obstructing justice?

Three police officers showed up at my house, and I didn't know why they were there. They wanted to go inside, so I asked for a warrant. They told me they had a situation to deal with and they didn't need a warrant to come inside. Not understanding, I asked for a warrant again. They told me to sit down on the couch, which I did, and they came inside. They proceeded to search my house, and I asked for a search warrant a third time. They promptly placed me under arrest for obstructing justice. I later found out that one of my housemates had called them, and that's why they were allowed to enter my house without a warrant. But was it legal for them to arrest me simply for asking for a warrant?

I'd be happy to represent you on that charge as any American jury will never convict you. However, you need to be careful that the police didn't "make up" that you did something else. It is absurd that they couldn't tell you they were responding to a call from within the house. Contact me directly for further assistance.
