In Washington state is it illegal to threaten someone with a slingshot. They had it pulled back to shot it and we drove away before smthey shot
1 Answer from Attorneys
It depends. First, you should not use anyone's real name on a public forum like this one. You also have not given enough information to provide a factual context for your described situation. Was this a situation involving a confrontation? Were you trespassing on someone's property? What was the intention of the slingshot holder? Normally, a slingshot is not considered a deadly weapon, but that also depends upon what the projectile is that is in the slingshot pouch. Aiming a slingshot at someone might be considered attempted assault but that again depends upon the circumstances. If you have a concern about this incident, call law enforcement and describe the incident and ask them to give you their opinion as to whether or not such a use of a slingshot is a violation of law. Good Luck!
