Legal Question in DUI Law in Washington

Courtroom procedures?

I cannot afford a lawyer for a trial ($30K to $80K).

So where would I find information that would tell me the methods for:

1) how to depose police officers before trial?

2) how to question myself during a trail?

3) other info I need to know for self-representation?

Re: Courtroom procedures?

I'll charge you less than that. Where are you located. To answer: your local law library will have practice manuals you can review. Also, you must know the rules of evidence. You can get the rules of evidence in a law library. You'll also want to read Tegland's interpretation of the rules of evidence and read any of the cases to which he refers.

You'll want to read the rules on prosecutorial obligations and cases related to prosecutorial misconduct to make sure the pros. doesn't take advantage of you.

You'll need to read the rules related to discovery to make sure they give you everything you need to defend yourself.

As for deposing police officers--submit them subpoenas. You'll want a witness present at the deposition so you can call the witness to testify to what they said at the deposition if they change their story.

What is the case? If this is just a DUI I only charge $4000. Maybe a little more if you are far away.

At your service,
