Legal Question in DUI Law in Washington

Driving Question

I plead guilty to a negligent driving

1st degree charge and subsequently

my WA Driver's license is suspended

until April 3rd 2008. I have a job in

AZ I am leaving for this week and

would like to drive as oppose to fly.

My lawyer told me I can drive legally

in any state except WA. I have a

friend who was charged with a DUI in

ID and his lawyer also told him he

could drive in any other state except

ID. I paid good money for my lawyer

but he seems scatterbrained at times

and I want to make sure I am going

to be within the law and am okay to

be driving my car in OR, CA, ID, and

AZ. I am fully insured, will get SR-22

by April 3rd furnished to WA DOL and

have completed all requirements set

by the WA courts to reinstate my

license when that time comes

(Victims Panel, Alcohol Eval, 8-hr

Alcohol/Drug School, Comm Srvice, &

paid all fines)

Re: Driving Question

I disagree with your attorney and you may want to have him research the issue. Ask him about resaprosity with other states. Furthermore, a practical question arises. Who is going to drive you to the WA border?
