Legal Question in DUI Law in Washington

DUI Interlock System Requirement

Hello: In October of 2005 I began having the symptoms of panic attacks (body trembles without knowing why, thinking it was stress) I began to self medicate with alcohol and subsequently got a DUI. I was to have the interlock system installed my car but haven't yet because I'm not comfortable driving anyway knowing a panic attack could come. I have less than a year of probation. My question is, should I go ahead & have the Interlock installed, or just wait another year? If I don't drive I don't want to pay for it but when I am ready to drive, I want to be able to. Does the Interlock placement be on my record forever?

Re: DUI Interlock System Requirement

If you don't intend to drive over the period in which you are to have the IID, check with the DOL re: filing a for a waiver of the IID requirement.
