failure to appear in wash state

On the night of March 03, 2005 I was involved in a single car/single person accident in Washington state. No property damage to state or private parties. My bac at the hospital was .239. After surgeries and a short stay in the hospital I returned to my home state of Texas for rehabilitaion of my injuries. A notice to appear in court on May 31, 2005 arrived in the mail. I am scheduled important medical test the following day after my scheduled court appearance. Due to that appointment and money problems i will not be able to get to Washington to appear before the judge. I called the district court to request a telephone hearing and was told no and that i needed a lawyer. I cannot afford a lawyer. I do not wish to contest or fight the charges against me since I was not concious and have no memory of the ordeal. I am GUILTY. I would like to avoid a bench warrant for my arrest as this will complicate my admission to college and the use of my G.I. bill assets. Can a family member in Washington stand in for me and plead me guilty? It is my und

If you have a family member in Washington, have that person get you a lawyer. If you fail to appear, a warrant will be issued for your arrest, and additional charges are likely to be filed.
