Legal Question in Education Law in Washington

Career in Law

I'm sorry, this is probably a ''nuisance'' because you guys are probably pretty busy, but I'd like to hear it from someone who's been there. Which is preferred: a Degree from a college, or a Certificate from a technical school? I'm not sure which to pursue. I'm planning on becoming a legal secretary.

Thanks for your time.

It really depends upon what YOU want. If you are good at what you do, then it doesn'tmatter. However, snooty firms will probably look more favorably upon a full degree, plus paralegal certification. Then, you'll need work experience, so try to get that while in school.

Go to firms in your area and interview a few friendly firms,--it's called an "informational interview," and you should get the best feedback from those. Then check with the guidance counselors at the different programs in your area and ask about outplacement,--where do their graduates end up. This should give you a good start on figuring out which course to pursue.

Good luck!
