Legal Question in Elder Law in Washington
mother needs help
my brother has durable power of attorney and guardianship over my mother.She had been hospitalised and when she was discharged he refused to let her go home.she has since been with her daughter,which needs to go back to work and noone to care for her. He lives in her house and she pays all bills. he dont work. what should I do?

Call Adult Protective Services in your county and report what is going on and ask them to determine if your mother is in need of services.
If they say they cannot help her, consider contacting an attorney who works in the elder care arena, such as Margaret Dore.
