Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

18 year old moving out - can parents stop this?

I have heard that there is a law in place that allows the parents of an 18 year old who wishes to move out to force their child to continue living with them until they graduate from high school. Is this true? If so, do you think the parents could get their appeal approved if the child is only a few (2-3) months from graduation?

An 18 year old is an adult, and unless there is a guardianship (based on incapacity) there is no basis for preventing an 18 year old moving out.
