Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

16 yr old daughter State of WA

I have a 16 year old daughter who is done with school (GED) and we live in the state of Washington. She is refusing to stay home, her fiance who is over 18, has agreed to accept legal guardianship of her, until their wedding. What do I need to do to make that legal, so that he can be a replacement of us as her parents (signing forms etc..), along with relieving any liability if she does something illegal.

If your daughter is emotionally and financially independent of you, you could support a petition for emancipation. That is a more practical approach. Whether this is a good idea is another question. The court is not going to make her "fiance" her guardian (there are so many kinds of potential for abuse in such mixed relationships). If you are going forward with either approach you should consult an attorney before proceeding.
