Abandonment
My wife of 12 years abandoned my 7 yr old daughter and I while my ship was at sea. She was having an affair, I guess afraid of the concequences she fled with our car and this guy she is seeing all the way to the east coast. I would like to save my marriage but I am also being realistic about things. I don't want to lose my 17 yr carrear in the military. Do I have all custodial or parental rights seeing my wife abandoned her family and left the state, we haven't heard from her but one phone call in the month time frame that she has left us.
If there is any legal advice you could give it would be highly appricieated.

You need to get an attorney and get into court as soon as possible. You need to get a temporary "custody" order, which is called a temporary parenting plan.
Move quickly before she decides to come back and take the kids with her.
Though your concern to save your marriage is laudable--and perhaps doable--a court order will allow you to bargain from a position of strength. And while she may awaken from her stupidity and want to return, I wouldn't take her back into the home until she made true changes and proved herself for a significant period of time. Sir Thomas More said it was better to be well hanged than ill wed. Make up your mind ahead of time to do it right so your emotions are not manipulated if she wants to return.
