Maintenance awards depend on need and ability to pay and to a certain extent, the length of the marriage and the ability of the recipient to be self-supporting.

An award of maintenance doesnt depend on whether or not you get SSI or how much SSI you receive.

There is no limitation on your receiving alimony (spousal maintenance) if you are receiving SSI, but the SSI would be considered by the court in determining whether to award alimony and how much. The details of your situation and your income and that of your spouse will make a difference in whether seeking spousal is a reasonable course.
