Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Attorney case records
I'm trying to get an original seperation agreement form from my attorney. So far he has been un-cooperative to say the least. Do I have any recourse to get his file on me?

Re: Attorney case records
Is it possible that you could have an outstanding bill with this attorney?
Even so, most family law attorneys recognize that their client's files really belong to their clients.
If you write to your attorney and tell him that you would like your file, if he is a decent sort, he'll tell you to come get it.
It isn't recourse that you need, not yet. Just tell him you want your file. Do it in writing.
If he doesn't respond in a reasonable amount of time, then contact the Bar.
Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
