Would my ex boyfriend be awarded custody of our child over me when he has domestic violence charges on his record?

The court will consider a number of factors in deciding on custody and residential schedules when putting in place a parenting plan. A history of domestic violence can be a basis for restricting visitation and custody, so the Court may be inclined to restrict visitation with your ex depending on his history. A full review of all the facts on both sides, however, would likely be considered by the court prior to making a decision.
