child abuse

I am 29 year old female. My mother and father recently got divorced and my mother admitted to giving me alcohol as a baby in my bottle and later sending me to school with it in a thermas.I was told I could sew my mother for child abuse. do you know if this is true, and how do I go about doing so?

If you just found out about this, yes, you *may* have a cause of action that is not barred by the statute of limitations.

You should contact your county Bar association, and get the name of a local attorney who handles these sort of cases. The attorney will not charge you to talk to him/her about your case.

In fact, you might go interview a few different lawyers and find one you like and you trust to work with.

The other issue is this. You can be completely correct, and have a very good case, but if your defendant (here, your mother) doesn't have any money or property then there is no point in having a judgment against her.

Law is never about the principle it is always about making abusive people pay for the damage they did, literally.
