Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

child custody

i have full custody of my two children. my youngest who is 9 yrs old wants to go live with his father, because he was promised a very expensive gift if he was to come live with his dad. will i jeoprodise my full custody if i was to put in writing that my 9 yr old can go stay with his dad for a 30 day trial? can i put it writing and have it notorized that i am not signing over my full custody? i think he needs to spend more than only 4 days a month over there to see that he will not be happy living with his father full time.

Re: child custody

By having a written agreement, you are creating evidence of what the 30 days is so that if there is a fight later about what that period was understood to be by the parents you have something more than he said she said. Understand that no piece of evidence is necessarily controlling. You can put anything you want to into writing. You could also just do an agree modification to the parenting plan to provide for bigger blocks of time with the father.
