what is the legal age for a child to choose which parent he/she wants to live with?

Eighteen. persons who have not yet reached their age of majority are presumed incompetent to make decisions for themselves.

The court does not want to hear from teenagers, if there is a placement issue the court will appoint a Guardian ad Litem to talk with the parties involved and make a recommendation to the Court.
