Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Child support and college

The child is 18 years old and will now be going to community college. Will the noncustodial parent be required to pay child support and a portion of the college fee for this adult child?

The first order of support stated child support is complete when the child turns 18 or graduates highschool. The child support was modified to raise the amount of child support while the child was in high school, and the order was left open pending post secondary support. Would this mean paying for college or continuing child support?

Re: Child support and college

The exact words of the order of support are controlling. I don't think you have quoted it. Your interpretation in the form of paraphrasing is not adequate for me to tell you what it means. I.e I don't know what, "the order was left open pending post secondary support" means and I hope it is not what your order says.
