Too much for Child Support

I'm currently paying $650 per month regarding child support. Is this too high? If so, how do I get it reduced?

Re: Too much for Child Support

Your monthly child support transfer payment is based on many factors, including your monthly net income, the other parent's monthly net income, the age of the child, whether you are supporting other minor children, how much residential time you have with your child, your medical and daycare expenses paid for the child, etc.

Without additional information it is impossible to tell if you are paying "too much." If your current child support order has been in effect for more than 24 months, you may seek a child support adjustment without any showing of changed circumstances. If it has not been in effect that long, you may need to show that there has been a substantial change of circumstances that warrants a modification of the child support order. Consult an attorney in your area for assistance. You may also get the child support schedule from your court's law library or the court facilitator.
