claiming exemption for child

Can I retroactively claim exemption for child after court order determines exemption should be alternated from year to year

I will assume that you are talking about the tax exemptions for dependendant children. This is not a family law question. If the court has ordered it, then that has resolved that part of the question. The part you need to resolve is with the IRS. It is a tax question.
