Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

continuance

I have recently filed for a parenting plan. Our temporary hearing is this Friday but the mother of my child wants to get a continuance because her lawyer cant do it that day. I am not going to sign/agree to this. I want the date to remain friday. Do I even need to respond to their request? The reason is that I am out of state and had to get approval to appear by phone for said date...

Re: continuance

You have a right to oppose their request to continue. Make certain that the court knows your feelings because most courts do try to accomodate attorney schedules.
