Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
cps isnt doing their part
it has now been 2 years since my children were removed from my care and placed in their fathers care do to my past drug use they were to remain their until i completed all my court ordered services well now that i have completed them cps suggests that we should have a parenting plan between the father and myself which will give him full custody and me weekend visitation. but now that i have completed all my court ordered aservices i don't think that is the best thing to do because i heard it is really hard to get custody back of them what i want to know is do i have to go through with the parenting plan or can i file a petetion with the courts and show all my completions and documentations and try to get back custody instead of going through with the parenting plan.

Re: cps isnt doing their part
Why are you allowing CPS to determine what is and is not in your children's best interests?
If your parental rights have been terminated, you are in a tough spot to negotiate with them now.
If your parental rights have not been terminated, it depends on whether there is a parenting plan in place now or not what you would do first.
Actually - my best advice I can give you is to find Gary Preble in Olympia and ask him to tell you what to do now. You can look up washington lawyers at wsba.org or try avvo.com ( a v v o). Hope this helps.
