Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

So my Ex is tring to move before we get a parenting plan . I have the packet to file and its filled out . I want to know if theres a way to keep her from moving away with my son . till we get things settled in court .. I file in the morning of march 23 07 at 10 AM .. What can i do and what are my rights as his father?

You can also file a motion for temporary orders. The timing on hearing temporary orders is to some degree controlled by local rules (so find out what the earliest date would be to hear in Clark county). You can also file for an ex parte restraining order (specifically to prevent her from taking the child away). You may want to consider consulting with an attorney on this.

You can also file an objection to relocation (and the summons that goes with it) and move the court to restrain her from relocating out of your school district until further court order.

Your rights as a father are to have a decent relationship with your child not interfered with by the other parent. As this is such an important part of your life, please lawyer up so you don't lose what you are entitled to. Family law is not casual or soft or cozy. The same way you have a mechanic work on your car or an electrician in your house, get a lawyer to take care of you in court.
