Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Custody issues

My fiance and I currently have her 2 children. Her soon to be ex wants to come and get them. We are not aware of any temporary cutody orders and the court date is not until late September. Is there any reason why we would have to give them to him, particularly as they ask not to made to go with him?

you do not have to give up the kids without a court order.
