What do I do to get sole custody of my children?

Re: custody
First we do not have "custody" in Washington. We have a parenting plan which details where the children live and the time with the non-custodial spouse. If by "sole cusody" you mean eliminating contact by the other parent you must show a danger to the children or a history of abuse in the past. This can then limit the other parent's contacts to supervised vistation.
If by "sole custody" you mean the children live basically full time with you and visit the other parent several weekends a month - this is basically a normal parenting plan.
If you are refering stictly to decision making again you must show past abuse or misconduct.
You really need to meet with an attorney and discuss your situation. He/she should be able to help you sort out your options in an initial 1/2 or 1 hour visit.
Some firms have reduced fees for initial consultations. I charge $50.00 for a 1/2 hour visit and its purpose is to help you sort out your options and give you information upon which to base your decisions.
