Custody

My son and his ex girl friend had--name removed--baby few years back. she got married to some one else and they want to adopt the girl legaly. if they adopt and my son requested some visitation right will he still be responseble financilay?

If your son wants to relinquish his rights and the ex is married and her new husband wants to adopt the child, this can be done.

If the child is adopted by the husband your son's financial obligations end. Also, as he would no longer be the child's father, he would also not have the right to visit the child or have a parenting plan with residential time.

Your son can have residential time AND the financial obligation, or not, it is up to the parties.

That said, people can reach agreements that work for everybody, based on their individual facts and circumstances, and I would not hesitate to recommend a compromise that works for all of them.
