Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

I'm going through a devorce and my wife and we can't agree on property settlement issues. I want to go to trial and have the judge settle it, however I'm being told that I whave to have a settlement conference prior to a trail. I want to know if this is true? or can I wave the conference and request a trial?

Yes, you have to have a settlement conference (with a few exceptions), but you have not described any of them as applying to your situation. You can't waive it, because it is as much for the convenience of the court as it is for you.
