Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
dissmisal of a case
My family law case is going to be dissmissed, because either party has not gone back to court in over a year to change our tempoary visitation order what does this dissmissel mean, I have custody and live in WA state, my childs father lives in Calif, the temp order says , my daughters father has to come visit with her here in Wa state with no over night visits, And that is because he has only seen her once in almost 3 years, (she is only 5 years old) none of us has gone back to court to change the temp orders, now I was told the courts are going to dissmiss the case what does that mean? and is it in my favor?

Re: dissmisal of a case
You haven't entereed final orders on your case. You need to file a parenting plan, an order of child support, findings and conclusions and a decree of dissolution. If you don't file those documents asap you will remain married to this person.
The temporary orders are just until you get the matter finalized. If you don't finalize it the whole action evaporates and you remain married.
Call the Bar association in this county. Ask if they can refer you to a clinic or self-help program if funds are an issue.
Hope that explains it. Powell
