Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Divorce case

I filed my petition for the divorce, and my wife filed her response, which differed. We are now coming to an agreement on how to divide everything up. What forms do I need to file to change the petition to match our new agreement?

Re: Divorce case

None. Just reflect your agreement in the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law, Decree (and if needed the Child Support Worksheet, Order of Support and Parenting Plan). You could in theory file an amended petition, but because she has answered your amended petition you would have to do a motion and order to file an amended petition. Nobody cares what the petition says and it has no legal significance after a decree is entered.
