Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

divorce

I have been currently deployed to Iraq. I have been seperated from my ex for two years now. Before I left to Iraq I signed Divorce papers in Dec. 2006. I found out a day before being deployed that she never turned them in and she lives in New Mexico. I was stationed in Fort Lewis Washington before I deployed. Please help on how I can get this divorce taken care of ASAP while I am here in Iraq.

Re: divorce

It is unclear what documents she did not turn in, does this mean that she did not file the petition and summons (to initiate the case), or did she not present the findings of fact and conclusions of law, and decree (to finish the case).

This can be done, and it could be easy if your spouse cooperates. You may even be able to use the existing documents, but I will need more information before I could say what needs to be done and how to do it. On the other hand, it may be easier to do the divorce in NM.
