Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

divorce

I filed for divorce, now because I have moved on, met somebody and have that person in my life, the respondent is requesting that i cant have visitations with my fiance in the picture, this is the woman i will be living with, i can't imagine that a judge could grant such a thing, could that happen?

Re: divorce

It could happen, but not just because your current spouse asks for it. She would have to show that your girlfriend had some significant problem: e.g. conviction for violence (especially if it involved children), illegal drug dealing, continued illegal drug use, etc.

Re: divorce

Possible but not likely unless your new girlfriend has a criminal record that suggests she is a danger to a child.

Your ex doesn't get to play hostage and ransom. If she withholds visitation, bring a contempt motion, and enforce the parenting plan that way.
