Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Divorce not finished

How do I request to go before a judge to sign off on a QDRO?

I've already paid several thousand to an attorney and have been billed twice but service has not been provided and it's been almost a year since my divorce was final.

My ex is getting close to retirement and if paperwork isn't complete, I won't receive what was court ordered by a judge.

My attorney isn't returning my phone calls. I cannot afford another attorney and was told I could make corrections to the Qdro myself but it would need to be signed by a judge.

Thank you

Re: Divorce not finished

Depending on local rules you may need to file a note to motion calendar for entry of the QDRO. I am assuming that a QDRO was provided for by agreement. If your former spouse has signed the QDRO you can not make corrections without the former spouse's approval (to make changes without approval of the other party and presenting it to the court would be fraud).
