Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Divorce and inheritance

My husband is recieving an inheritance of our house and cash. If we divorce am I entitled to any of it? He has been verbally abusive to me for the four years of our marriage. We have no children together, but my 11 year old son lives with us. Before this, I supported him for 6 of the 9 years we have been together. I am now a student in college. He threatens to kick me out all the time. What can I do? Thank you for your time and effort.

Re: Divorce and inheritance

Although this property would generally be considered separate it can be considered in making a fair and equitable distribution of property (and liabilities). That is, if the value of the estate is large he could get more debt assigned and less of the community property to make a more equitable distribution in the dissolution of marriage.
