Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Divorce from a non US citizen

I am a US citizen and I married a man from Barbados in March 2008, he wants a divorce but I have said no. We have not lived together since being married, however I have his name on my insurance, bank account and other documents. Can he divorce me eventhough he is not living in the US. What rights do I have to financial support and property.

Yes, he can divorce you in WA even though he is not living in WA, only one of you needs to be residing in WA. By filing he would submit to the jurisdiction of the WA courts, and you are subject to jurisdiction because you reside here.
