Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Divorce now or later
I am planning to divorce. I am currently in a new business that has low profitability. Profitability is increasing sharply. Is there a benefit to divorcing before profitability improves? We have two children, 4 and 5. She is also an attorney making the same wage and working almost the same hours.

To the extent that profitability affects the value of the business it may be a community property issue (how to divide that value). As profitability affects income it will affect your immediate child support situation. Long term, child support is generally reviewed periodically.
My general advice to a person who is planning to get a divorce is to do it. Waiting can lead to complications as to what is community property and debt and what is separate property and debt and child support and parenting issues(unless you do a separation agreement that addresses those issues).
