Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
divorce problem
I am trying to divorce my husband, I want to keep the house so I told him I would take all the bills that are outstanding house appraised for 135000. and bills are 140000. I thought that was fair but he wants 1/2 the house and no bills. he also wants 1/2 of my 401k. he is disable with psychofrenia and has been out of work for over 5 years almost as long as we have been married. I have paid all the bills and paid off his car with a loan from my 401k that i pay out of my check every two weeks. I need to know if i sell the house before i file for divorce and pay all the bills will i get in trouble. if i don't sell and let it go before the judge what is the chance that I will end up giving him the whole house and still have to pay all the bills. I have been partially supporting him since we seperated in feb 06. I want to do the right thing so I don't get in trouble. i also really can't afford to keep supporting him and paying his bills and suppling his medical insurance. please if you can give me any guidance I would sure appreciate it. thank you

You really, REALLY need a lawyer, now. This is impossible to give you useful advice without more information. You are correct under the facts you have provided that he's not being reasonable.
You need to consult with bankruptcy and family law counsel now. Old adage is, "Don't take legal advice from opposing parties" as they don't have your best interests at heart -
