Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Divorce in Washington State

I recently had my wife served divorce papers on Jan 8th. I am waiting for the response, and I understand she has 20 days to serve it back on me. She filed the original with the clerk I am told, but I have not received a copy like the summons is telling her to serve on me. Does this give me grounds still to motion for default on the case if I do not get served a copy of the response in time?

Although she is supposed to serve you with a copy also (and she still has 4 days), if you go to court to get a default without notice, the court will look at the clerk's file and if an answer is in there, you can expect that the commissioner will not give you the default.
