Divorce-custody decisions
IHAVEsigned divorce papers giving my ex custidy of children because i had no where to go when i left. Now he drinks alot and leaves my 10 year old daughter home alone with older brother. ON the weekend my daughter is home with--name removed--house full of men that are drinking. My ex told me that if i contest the divorce that he will never sign the divorce papers. I need him to sign the papers so that i can fix my credit and get remarried to another person next summer or sooner. He controlls every thing the kids do and he doesnt let them talk to me on the phone becaue he said it has to be my weekend to talk.Would it be harder to fight for custodyafter the divorce is final? DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR--name removed--VEHICLE IF I was not on the lease?

Re: Divorce-custody decisions
It is harder to do a modification (successfully) than to fight the custody issue out the first time. There is a presumption in favor of keeping the plan the way it is once a final plan is entered. On the vehicle lease, the usual course is that the obligations go with the assets (although that does not keep the leasing company from coming after you if your spouse defaults on the lease-you then have recourse against him for whatever that is worth).
