Re: Divorced

Fathers are awarded primary residential placement of their children all the time.

There is a whole statute devoted to the various considerations the court has to decide as to where to place children.

With a positive parenting evaluation, children get placed with the parent who has demonstrated the best environment and potential to make the best home for the child.

Courts have a hard time with a father who has spent practically no time with his child reversing course and insisting that he's the best placement. It appears as though the father is more concerned with not paying support than he is with the kids best interests.

Divorce can bring out the worst in people, and the kids didn't cause it and they cannot fix it. They are stuck right in the middle between two warring factions.

They are not prizes to be awarded, but little kids who need to feel safe and connected to both parents.

But I've seen plenty of cases where the child resides with the father.
