Domestic Abuse
What kind of protection is there for men in Washington State when they are in an abusive (emotional, mental) relationship (marriage or living together)?

Re: Domestic Abuse
You are entitled to equal protection under the law and gender is not a basis to deny you relief.
There are support groups for men facing domestic violence. Find one, contact them for support.
If you need help getting a restraining order, the DV phone lines or courthouse liasons are available to you as well.
Be prepared to not be believed, but you can tell your circumstances so that a court can understand that you are the victim, not the abuser.
There is a social expectation that men are not DV victims, it is true, but you can make sure that the court understands your issue and get relief.
Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
