what do I need to do to get emancipated?

You need to be ove 16 years of age, and able to prove that you can operate financially, emotionally, physically independent of your parents. The actual process is a petition for emancipation (it has a filing fee). If your parents/guardian resist your petition, you can expect a high degree of difficulty in getting a court to go along with you.
