Ex-husband defaults on settlement agreement

My ex asked to have 15 years in which to make settlement payments to me. He defaulted on the payments at the end of the year 2006 saying he is broke and will not continue to pay. What can I do?

Re: Ex-husband defaults on settlement agreement

You don't say how long ago the settlement was reached, and that's key.

However, it is possible to ask a court to enforce a settlement agreement.

Unless he decides to bankrupt out of it.

Call a local family law attorney and ask them to present a motion to enforce the agreement. Hope this helps.
