Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
Ex-husband should pay for Medical Issues
My daughter needs medical care, the costs exceed what the insurance pays, my divorces papers say my ex-husband has to pay half of the costs of what the insurance does not cover. My ex-husband refuses to pay his half. Orthodontists care is considered cosmetic but not in this situation. It will be detremental to my daughters health if she does not get this care.

Re: Ex-husband should pay for Medical Issues
You'll need to file a motion to hold him in contempt of the divorce decree and child support order, and have the court order him to pay the extraordinary medical cost. If you daughter needs the procedure immediately you should find a way to have the procedure done and then seek reimbursement from him through court action.
