Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

family law, property

My brother in law is 18years old and just got kicked out of his mothers home. He is now living with hiis brother and I. She would not allow him to take any of his things from her home. We contacted the local police department and they allowed us to go and get his things. He has an electric guitar and amplifier that she bought for him as a gift. The police told us that if she felt like we were taking something that belonged to her she could take him to court. What are her chances of doing so and winning her case?

I don't know. It will depend on what the evidence supports.
