Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Family Lay

Is it possible in the State of Washington to change/move from the judge who ruled on a divorce decree to a new court/judge in the new judicial district to which both former husband and wife now reside in Washington? If so, do both former husband and wife have to agree to change? Is a lawyer required to affect that change or can one do by himself?

Re: Family Lay

It is called change of venue, and you can do it as an agreed motion or if not agreed you can do it as a contested motion. Theoretically anything an attorney can do a party can do pro se, but I also ask a person "Is this is important?" If it is you may want to give serious consideration to retaining counsel.
