Grandparent adoption
my unmarried 19 yr old dtr wants to give her baby up for adoption and is ''meeting '' with prospective parents. she refuses to let us adopt the baby stating ''it would be too hard for her to see the baby all the time. She isn't going thru an agency. can I petition the court to get custody and adopt? If not how can I assure the prospective parents have been properly screened?

Re: Grandparent adoption
In all adoptions a guardian ad litem is appointed to do an investigation of prospective adoptive parents. As to your ability to intervene, you could file a 3d Party Custody action, or intervene in the adoption action, but I don't have any sense of your prospects of success.
