Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
I havrecently retired and have a child under the age of 18 who is eligible for SS. I have been paying Child Support throughout. He is now receiving SS in the amount of 500.00 more per month via SS can the mother double dip and force me to continue to pay regular child support. The child now lives in the State of Washington and has resided here for more than 6 months. Child support was being handled by the state of Idaho who are now transferring it to WA

I might argue at least that the parents should have this money applied against their proportional support obligations. On the other hand, WA law includes this amount in the mother's monthly income: http://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=26.19.071, and recalculating would thus increase the mother's income. That may or may not affect the amount of your support obligation.
