Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Hello,

I filed for a Dissolution of Marriage on 08/24/09 in Snohomish County in Washington Sate. My husband was served with the Dissolution of Marriage on 08/28/09. On 09/14/09 his Lawyer filed a Notice of appearance. I was under the assumption that they had 20 days to file a response to my Motion. Is this true or since his Lawyer filed a Notice of appearance does that count as a response and if so do they have a time frame to file a response?

He still has 20 days to file a response, but if he does not file a response you may file a motion for default, but because he has filed a notice of appearance you have to give him formal notice of the motion for default. You mention a motion in your question, and I am not sure what you are referring to, so if you have already filed a motion for default have to serve a copy of it on his counsel.
