Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Inheritance and child support

Recently a trust was set up for me which holds ownership of a house for me (The trust will then pass on to my daughter when I die). Consequently, I have not mortgage payment. The house is in the trust's name, not my own. How will this impact my child support? Will my ex pay less?

Re: Inheritance and child support

I do not know all of your facts to give you a opinion. However, whether your ex pays less is a function of whether he put the house in trust as part of a property division or as a means to do estate planning. Generally speaking, you shouldn't receive any less and this should not affect your child support; but, as I said, I do not have all of your facts to give you a bnetter opinion.
