Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

What is invalidity of marriage?

How do I know if I am eligible to file for invalidity of marriage? I was legally married earlier this year. My wife and I agreed that this was a temporary marriage, because she was being abused by her parents and needed a place to go, and would not be allowed to move in with me without being legally married. The ceremony was preformed just before my wife's 18th birthday, and three months later I moved out. We have not had contact since (around six months) and are not divorced. Is this a situation that would qualify for invalidity of marriage?

Re: What is invalidity of marriage?

Quite possibly. You should contact local counsel who practices family law and go over it with them.

I wish you all the best with this, but you really need your own attorney to help you. Elizabeth Powell
